Is Our Sea Power Ready?

For longer than I can remember, the U.S.Navy, as well as all branches of the military, have been the bulwark of freedom for our country. But it seems that our current administration has taken the responsibility of keeping us safe a bit lightly in favor of advancing a grand, social experiment when those dollars would be better spent in preserving our republic.

Jim Bencivenga writes in the Christian Science Monitor of the slow slide to ineffectiveness of the U.S. Navy and the threat from China. This, among other things, should be kept in the forefront of our minds as we advance to the 2012 elections, not only with respect to the presidency, but also those remaining representatives and senators whose say one thing and act differently when the call to vote comes.

Read this article and then think about the consequences of a weak or ineffective Navy.
